For anyone who has a kid that likes to use their imagination and loves to build, this is the ultimate set. It is definitely more expensive than it should be but worth it if your child is like mine and loves to build a whole world out of legos. My daughter likes to make a world or a zoo with these and creates a whole story to go with the pieces which I think is great. It has so many pieces to really let a child use their imagination. I definitely would recommend if you can afford it. (Or maybe ask grandparents to buy as a gift, lol)

It includes 6 LEGO DUPLO characters: a traveler, pilot, surfer dad and child, and a canoer dad and child. It also includes 15 animal figures: an adult and baby giraffe, adult and baby lion, adult and baby panda, adult and baby deer, adult and a baby whale, penguin, toucan, fish, rabbit, and a squirrel. There's a plane, canoe, and surf board for the characters to enjoy. Take a safari, cross African savannah, canoe the river, then head to the beach and build a sandcastle, or how about an adventure to the south pole where you could spot a whale or watch the penguin dancing on ice. Building, taking apart, and rebuilding improved fine motor skills, dexterity, and hand/eye coordination.Wow! That's what my 2.5-year-old granddaughter said. She was so excited! She began naming each of the animals -- telling me "look Nana, a mommy giraffe, and her baby. . Giraffe, " then "look Nana a squirrel.". . And so on until she had shown me all of them. (Of course, when Papaw arrived home she started all over and with great enthusiasm named them all off again.) The chunky pieces are ideal for little hands. This set encourages children to let their imagination run wild. She tells the cutest stories as she has the characters interacting with the animals. It reinforces learning through play -- she counts the blocks, people, and the animals. She tells us what color things are and how many she has of each. The best part is she can entertain herself for an hour or longer with this set, and she has fun.I love Legos, and this one ranks right up there with the best ones. Yeah, it is a bit pricy.
