    There is such a LOT in this set and so much you can do with it. It comes with a booklet that steps you through building 5 items and gives you a few decorating options. After each one there are a number of images for alternate builds based on that theme - many of these builds have downloadable instructions so if something particularly takes your fancy they are easy to recreate. Of course, this is really just a box full of "bits" that you can use to make and decorate whatever you can imagine.The only real let down of the builds is the frame. It isn't designed to take a printed image but rather it is more a plaque to decorate. Admittedly I think it is titled as a name plate so that could just be me misinterpreting. It was the most fun to decorate though - so there you go. The 4 other suggested builds are really fun and quite simple in construction. Even better they are actually useful, my computer desk now has plenty of Lego storage solutions and I LOVE IT.The colours of the decorating tiles have a range of pastel and saturated colours with plenty of black and white. I did try and use a variety of them across the pieces but I did find I was missing a proper green. That is my only real gripe with the set. I did like that there was a range of tile types in each colour as this made it easier to try and create your own design. The inclusion of alphabet tiles is also a fun idea and you can go to town with verbiage as there are quite a few of each letter.This is definitely a great set for anyone who loves to create and would keep you occupied for hours trying to fine tune those designs.PLEASE NOTE: The minifigures used to decorate the pieces are from my stash and are NOT included in the set. The tubs showing all the parts sorted are NOT part of the set and also come from my stash.Many thanks to the Amazon Vine Program for a review copy of this product.       I like that the box opens into a tray to use whilst making your designs. The instructions are in a magazine format with lots of different ideas which can be downloaded online, alongside the standard designs which are printed in the magazine. If you made the non-standard designs you wouldn’t be able to make all the items though as some of the designs use parts from other items. Really enjoyed that the Lego is useful after creation rather than just for looking at.

      This is a fairly comprehensive pack of some of the tiniest Lego pieces, very much pushing Lego for its decorative, pixel-art aspect rather than its construction toy roots. It’s very sweet and funky, but the lack of any real big centrepiece item- or even a plastic Lego storage box for storing all the pieces in- makes it feel a bit underwhelming. It’s like buying a huge packet of hundreds and thousands and other icing, but not getting a cake.

      The little pieces you can build with this are nicely presented though. The drawers are too small and thick-walled to be any kind of efficient as actual storage, but there’s still a novelty appeal for sure, while the ‘picture’ frame is a bit flat, literally, but the hanging piece has a lot of versatility- and ideally, there could have been more of those in the pack.

      My kids have already shown that they will use these pieces more as a way of decorating their existing proper Lego builds- some of them based around the old 4 x 2 brick (anyone remember them?!)- rather than build something solely from the contents of this pack. I can see why. In a way this feels like a big tub of pick-and-mix Lego bits like those you can get from Lego shops, but presented differently and with some very loose ideas attached.

      For dedicated fans of making pixel art, there’s definitely an appeal, and in some ways it’s a generously packed box- it’s also a large box that looks expensive and giftable. As a grown-up it makes me feel old though, partly because of the 8-bit graphic associations, and partly for all the moaning about “whatever happened to using proper Lego bricks to build houses”...

      Un starter kit adatto a chi non ha mai provato i Lego DOTS.
      Per quanto l'idea di partenza possa far strano, a chi come me è abituato ad usare i Lego in modo "classico", i DOTS intercettano un altro modo di giocare, fatto di decorazioni e disegni (cosa che piace molto ai miei figli).

      Riguardo il prezzo:
      Si sa che i Lego si pagano cari, ma avendo comprato questo set a metà prezzo (20€) devo dire che il rapporto qualità-prezzo è praticamente perfetto! Comprato a prezzo pieno potrebbe essere scoraggiante.
